Track Cycling World Cup Manchester 2011 - Manchester Velodrome 18-20 February

Spectator Parking

December 02 2010

On Friday and Saturday spectator parking is within the sport city complex – use Gate 2 and park in the Tennis centre car park which will be free of charge.

On Sunday, due to the unfortunate clash with the Manchester City vs Notts County FA Cup game, we have very limited access to these car parks.   To ensure your day runs smoothly, please take note of the following points;

  • When arriving early on Sunday you needn't worry about being caught in football traffic, however there may be heavy traffic on exit if the football game runs to extra time.
  • There will be 300 free parking places in the Sport City Car park (Gate 2, tennis centre car park) for those showing Track World Cup tickets or ticket print outs.  This is on a first come first served basis. Please note: Once these 300 spaces are filled, the football club will charge £10 per car thereafter.
  • There is free road side parking along Riverpark Road and Bank Bridge Street, but space is limited.
  • Parking at River Park Road secure car park (opposite Philips Park cemetery) is available for £5.
  • There is plenty of free parking at K2 car park, by Ashbury’s Train Station,  with a free shuttle service running to and from the Velodrome.  (This is approximately a 25 minute walk from the National Cycling Centre.)
  • Those coming in mid-session should be aware that Alan Turing Way will be closed for 15 minutes from 13.45 for football traffic.  There will also be a 15 minute road closure at the end of the match.
  • We advise you arrive before the football traffic to avoid any inconvenience
