Whether it’s your first time to a track cycling event or you’ve been to the velodrome before, we’ve got some important information for you to ensure you have an incredible time.
In the interests and safety and to improve your visitor experience during the event, please note the following conditions of entry to the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre (NCC), which will be in effect during the event.
Please find competition start and door opening times below.
Please note that the venue will be cleared between sessions so spectators with tickets for multiple sessions will be asked to leave and re-enter.
|Competition start||Doors opening times|
|Friday 10 November|
|Saturday 11 November|
|Sunday 12 November|
Security bag searches will be in operation for all sessions at the event.
NCC management will accept a small bag, rucksack or similar for personal use. Multiple bags per visitor will not be permitted.
Large bags, such as holdalls, suitcases, wheeled trolleys or similar will be not permitted.
Please be prepared for this process and allow sufficient time before the start of racing.
NCC management reserves the right to inspect any bag and/or articles of clothing.
For any ticketing enquiries, the box office will open when doors open for each session.
Track Centre Lounge guests will be signposted to Entrance D. Ticket holders for this area will not be able to get to track centre from the main spectator doors.
Travel and parking
The NCC is well-connected by public transport and spectators are advised to use the Metrolink where possible, stopping at the Velopark stop on the Ashton line.
There is no spectator parking onsite at the NCC. Spectator parking for the event is at the Etihad Campus (formerly known as Sportcity) in the blue car parks accessed through gate two off Alan Turing Way and is free of charge. Spectator parking will be signed on arrival from the main roads and is just a ten-minute walk from the venue.
Parking for disabled spectators on site is available but limited and will be for blue badge holders only. Disabled parking must be arranged prior to the event by emailing email@example.com
For more information about travel to the NCC, please visit the website.
Food and Drink
There are a wide variety of licensed bars and catering concessions available throughout the event. Please note some concessions are cash only. No alcohol is to be taken off-site.
Spectators are not permitted to bring the following items in to the venue:
- Food hampers, picnics, cool bags/boxes or similar
- Fast food, hot food, bulk food or similar
- Glass containers/bottles of any sort
You can bring small snacks, bottled water or soft drinks for your own consumption, provided that any drinks or bottles are in unopened and sealed plastic/paper containers with a capacity of 500 ml or less.
If you are bringing small snacks, bottled water or soft drinks, please do so in a carrier bag or small bag or rucksack.
Medical conditions: should you need to bring in food for a medical condition or have specific dietary requirements, please get in touch before your visit by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
The optimum temperature for track cycling is 28ᵒ meaning that for certain events the velodrome will be warm. As the outside temperature will be much lower, spectators are advised to dress appropriately with a number of layers that can be removed once inside.
Merchandise including key-rings, mugs, sports bottles and T-shirts will be available from the Merchandise shop located by corner one on the concourse.
Programmes will be sold at each session for £10.00 – Cash only.
A two-minute silence will be observed at 11:00 across Saturday 11 November and Sunday 12 November.
